Merry Christmas to all my readers! Hope wherever you are you’re having a great day! I’ve got a few minutes to kill before we all do the family thing so I thought I’d drop in and give you a quick hint of what to expect from us in 2017!

Before I go any further – I want to say the Marvel Cinematic Universe is fantastic. Not all the films have been perfect but it’s brilliantly cast – made by very interesting filmmakers – and the creative team in charge are celluloid visionaries. OK guys – gonna knock this one out quickly so forgive the lack of finesse. Don’t really wanna think too much about this one – simply because 2016 has been a bit of a dire year for cinema and I really had to try very hard to be able to put this list together. Superman Returns – A Look Back

For five years – Superman has been missing. Disappeared to investigate signals in space which may or may not have been emanating from the ruins of the planet Krypton.  The world missed him deeply at first. Then after a while it got used to him being gone. His absence led to Lex Luthor being freed from prison on a technicality as Superman wasn’t there to testify against him in court. Feeling rejected – ace Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane finally won a Pulitzer for writing an article about how the world was actually probably better off without him.
